The Skydrop controller can integrate with the Nest® ecosystem. By integrating with Nest you can track outdoor water usage for your sprinklers. If you have a Nest and Nest Protect® installed you can enable Emergency Watering that will trigger in the event Nest Protect senses a fire.
Before beginning this process make sure that you already have a Nest account (click Sign Up to create a new account).
Enter the Account Settings screen.
Tap or click anywhere on the row that says Connect to Nest, this will begin the setup wizard.
Click on Link Skydrop with Nest. This will redirect you to Nest’s authorization page where you will be prompted to enter your Nest account email and password.
After entering your Nest credentials you’ll be presented with the list of permissions that the Skydrop client is requesting with your Nest account.
After accepting the permissions requests you’ll be shown a list indicating your Nest structures and Skydrop controllers. Click the plus sign to pair a controller with a structure.
You will be shown a screen with settings for Water Usage reporting and Emergency Watering (if a Nest Protect is installed in the structure). Click on save to save the pairing and settings.
You’ll be returned to the previous screen where the pairing between structure and Skydrop controller will now be shown.
Congratulations you’ve now integrated your Skydrop controller with Nest. If you wish to enable or disable Water Usage sharing or Emergency Watering tap on the device pairing. You may also un-pair a controller with a structure here by clicking on Remove.
Please note that it will take up to 8 weeks for Skydrop water usage to appear in your Nest Home Report®.
If you wish to remove the works with Nest account link you may do so by following the instructions at the Nest support site.
