The Skydrop Expansion module allows an additional eight zones to be added to your Skydrop system, as well as a rain or flow sensor.
- Additional zones: 9-16
- Hot post: for testing each sprinkler zone
- S- S+: for the addition of a rain or flow sensor
- C: for 1 or 2 common wires
- Removable backplate: to allow sprinkler wires to be fed straight from the wall
Installation for the Expansion is similar to the Wall Plate installation for the Controller.
Run corresponding wires to needed zones 9 through 16. The zones can be connected in any order, but we recommend that you start with zone 9 and add zones consecutively. If your system has only one common wire and it is already connected to the Wall Plate, you need not connect anything to the two additional common wire positions in the Expansion; they’re present only for convenience. If you have additional common wires, connect them to either or both of the common [C] positions now.
If you have a rain or flow sensor, connect it to the S- and S+ inputs now. The type of rain sensor that is compatible with Expansion has no wiring polarity, so the two wires can be connected in either position. If you have a flow sensor, it is very important to observe correct polarity; your sensor may not work or may incur damage otherwise. Generally a red wire should be connected to S+ and a black wire should be connected to S-, but check the sensor’s installation instructions to verify its wiring color scheme. Only one type of sensor may be connected to the inputs at any given time.
Install by connecting the Expansion Plate to the Wall Plate using the snap-on legs fixed to the back.
Attach the Skydrop Controller faceplate to the Expansion using the snap-on legs.
Once the Controller starts up, a screen prompt should appear requiring you to input the necessary information for the newly added zones.
